The characteristic crumble is delicate and dewy. By adding Annatto to the make the Appleby’s Coloured Cheshire has a warm sunrise colour.
Each raw milk clothbound Cheshire takes a day to make and around twelve weeks to mature. The provenance and flora of the natural surroundings give Appleby’s Cheshire a flavour that is totally unique.

Appleby’s White Cheshire

White Cheshire has a soft milky appearance turning slightly darker at the rind. The characteristic crumble is delicate and dewy. Interestingly, White Cheshire is more likely to be eaten in the North of England.

Appleby’s Smoked Cheshire
Small batches of matured Appleby’s Coloured Cheshire are smoked over oak. The Smoked Cheshire cheeses are subtle enough to still taste the provenance but have meaty, toasty flavours that are upfront and moreish.
Pair with smokey ales. Try adding to a toasted sandwich.

Appleby's Double Gloucester
A classic British Territorial that has been made here at Appleby’s Dairy for decades.
It has a nutty, rich and buttery flavour and a texture that has more bite. The addition of annatto gives this cheese it’s bold harvest sun colour.
Each raw milk clothbound Double Gloucester takes a day to make and around sixteen weeks to mature. The provenance and flora of the natural surroundings give Appleby’s Double Gloucester a flavour that is totally unique.
Pair with pears.
Appleby's Whey Butter
Appleby’s Whey Butter is traditionally churned, salted and patted using the ‘scotch hands’ that give the unique lines on the pats.
The flavour is deliciously mellow and very moreish.
Curds are made into the cheese and the whey was traditionally used to make butter, feed the livestock or put back on the land. Appleby’s revived their whey butter after a 30 year interlude and have found it so popular that they wish they could make twice as much.
Spread thick enough to see your bite mark. Suitable for baking.
Made from raw cow’s milk with salt added.
